NEWSLINK: Indian tiger captured in Pakistan

Lahore: An Indian tiger which crossed into a Pakistani village has been captured by wildlife authorities after it injured two local people and triggered panic among the villagers.

The big cat entered the Kot Maanal village, some 150 kilometers from the Sialkot boundary, yesterday and attacked?men and cattle, Punjab Wildlife Department officials said.

"We have captured the big cat and transported it to the Lahore Zoo," the officials said.

Two local residents also suffered injures and were later shifted to a hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

The predator was caught after some residents informed police and the wildlife department about its presence in the village.

The incident spread panic in the border village with announcements being made from mosques for the villagers to remain in their houses.

Earlier in January, the wildlife officials had captured an Indian leopard from Pasrur border village, some 80 kilometers from here.
